At Lumia Overseas, we take pride in delivering student-centric, transparent, and high-quality educational consultancy services. This Cancellation & Refund Policy sets forth the terms and conditions under which a client (student or parent/guardian) may cancel any service availed through us, and outlines the scenarios in which a refund, if any, may be processed.
This policy applies comprehensively to all services rendered by Lumia Overseas, including but not limited to: University Search and Application Assistance Packages, Visa Guidance and Documentation Support, IELTS Coaching and Test Preparation, Admission Counseling, Paid Consultations, and access to proprietary digital products such as cost calculators and custom-built tools. By proceeding with the enrollment and making payment toward any of these services, the client is deemed to have accepted and agreed to the terms stated herein, in full.
Our services involve the allocation of expert human resources, proprietary tools, time-bound counseling sessions, and customized guidance tailored specifically to each student’s academic profile and career goals. Accordingly, once any component of the service has been initiated — including, but not limited to, university shortlisting, profile evaluation, personal statement (SOP) or resume drafting, communication with academic institutions, or visa strategy planning — that portion of the service is considered as rendered and non-reversible. For this reason, cancellations made beyond 24 hours from the time of payment, or after work has commenced on any part of the package, shall not be eligible for any refund whatsoever.
In cases where a cancellation request is submitted within 24 hours of payment and no work has yet begun, the client may be eligible for a refund, subject to deduction of applicable payment gateway charges or transactional fees. Any such refund shall be processed within 10 to 15 working days via the original mode of payment, unless otherwise agreed in writing by both parties.
No refunds shall be provided under any of the following circumstances: if the student has received part or full delivery of any included services; if the student independently decides to withdraw from the application process; if there are delays or rejections caused by external entities (such as embassies, universities, or third-party agencies); if the student fails to provide required documentation in a timely manner; or if the student becomes unresponsive or uncooperative during the process. It is hereby clarified that visa refusals, when not attributable to any negligence or procedural error on the part of Lumia Overseas, do not entitle the student to any refund, either in part or in full.
Lumia Overseas reserves the sole right to consider exceptions in circumstances involving documented medical emergencies, bereavement, or unforeseen family crises. Any such exception shall be subject to the submission of valid documentary proof within seven (7) calendar days from the date of cancellation request. Decisions on partial refunds, if any, in such cases shall remain entirely at the discretion of the company’s management, and the outcome shall be final and binding.
In the rare event that Lumia Overseas is unable to fulfill a confirmed service due to internal constraints such as staffing limitations or unforeseen operational challenges, the company shall, at its own discretion, either issue a full refund (after deducting applicable charges) or offer a substitute service of equal or greater value. The option exercised in such cases shall be determined mutually by both parties through written confirmation.
All services and packages purchased from Lumia Overseas are non-transferable, meaning they are intended for the original enrolling student only and may not be reassigned or gifted to another individual. Students who wish to pause or defer their application process must submit a written request via email. If approved, the service may be held in abeyance for a maximum period of six (6) months, after which the unused services will be deemed forfeited. Any changes in third-party costs (such as application fees or university deadlines) that occur during the deferment period will be borne solely by the student.

In case such matters remain unresolved through mutual communication, they shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the appropriate civil courts situated in New Delhi, India, and governed by the applicable laws of the Republic of India.
To reiterate, refunds are only available within 24 hours of payment, provided no work has begun. Once any portion of the service is utilized, no refund will be considered. Cases involving voluntary withdrawal, visa refusal, non-cooperation, or personal change of plans shall not be eligible. Requests falling under humanitarian grounds will be assessed case-by-case and are not guaranteed.
